The team recently launched Voice Agents, a new tool for creating customizable conversational agents. Here, the Supernormal team discusses the inspiration behind the latest product, some initial post-launch metrics, and what’s next for its AI products. 

Tell us about your launch.

We recently launched Voice Agents, a new addition to our AI meeting platform that allows users to create customizable conversational agents to handle routine conversations like inbound sales, customer support, candidate screens, and employee surveys—saving users time and providing an instant and engaging experience for end-users.

This launch represents a significant step in evolving Supernormal from supporting meetings to a workspace powered by conversational AI that helps scale work.

What was the inspiration behind the new product? 

Our inspiration came from observing how time-consuming routine conversations and repetitive tasks can hinder productivity. We wanted to empower users to delegate these effortlessly, allowing them to focus on more meaningful work.

What core customer or industry challenges are you hoping to solve with this new product?

We're addressing the challenges of scaling workload and managing routine interactions. Whether it's a sales team trying to streamline customer inquiries and ensure customers can get instant answers without scouring your website, or HR collecting employee feedback through surveys, or recruiters giving candidates an easy way to provide their information without having to fill out a form, Voice Agents aim to free up users' time, allowing them to focus on what truly matters while giving customers a faster and better experience. 

How was AssemblyAI part of your journey for this new product?

AssemblyAI provided transcription services that helped form the foundation of our Voice Agents' natural language processing. Their technology has been instrumental in ensuring that our agents accurately understand and respond to user queries, making them more efficient and natural in conversation. 

Do you have any initial results or metrics post-launch that you would like to share or emphasize?

While it's still early days, we've seen a positive response from users who are excited about the customization options and the ways Voice Agents can improve their workflows.  

How has the AI landscape changed since you implemented your first AI-powered feature to now?

​​The AI landscape has evolved rapidly, with a shift from basic automation to more sophisticated, conversational experiences. Our initial meeting notes feature was a step toward freeing up time, and now, with Voice Agents, we're taking that a step further by allowing users to build fully conversational agents tailored to their specific needs. The technology has become, and will continue to become, more accessible, allowing for deeper integration into everyday tasks.

What advice would you give to a company looking to integrate AI for the first time?

Start with a clear understanding of the problem you're trying to solve. AI is a powerful tool, but it's not a one-size-fits-all solution. Identify areas where it can have the most significant impact on your workflows, and focus on building a product that seamlessly integrates into users' daily lives.
